In Gaza, the Israelis keep hitting the Palestinian ground with smart war movements still killing people. In spite of the so-called truce between both sides, the war is going on and nothing looks positive. After the election on Israel, far-right politicians encourage the isolation of Israel of any kind of Arabs. Their voice, now, is even stronger and while Israel loses people by Hamas bombings (even if this is "set up"), people will listen to this voice more positive. Palestine is a cursed place, full of hatred, and the Laws of the United Nations do not apply at all or noone is there to apply them. Israel is growing its military force with many technological supplies, whereas drastic Palestinian organisations are planning suicide or simple bombings.
Is there any end? Maybe, the decision of one powerful State to recognise the Independent Palestinian State with specific boundaries may be the solution and the basis of re-negotiations between both sides. However, for the people living in that place may be not so simple. But it's been a while since we 've heard any common sense proposal or effort to bring peace.
In Darfur, the genocide left nothing to be rebuilt. The elections in the region are coming closer, but few do believe that the tribesmen will enjoy the rights that the Sudanese government stole from them by force leading to one of the worst genocides in the history However, the UN are trying to implement programs for the resurrection of a region that lacks food, water and basic shelter.
In Afghanistan, the Taliban regime seems to be hiding very well in the mountains of the country. They are planning suicide bombings, targeting the American Camps and troops. The exhaustion of the people and the general chaos of the country forces the US to ask for more armed forces in the region from their "allies". Even Greece has a small military unit (Military Engineers) for the rebuilding of roads, bridges etc in the country. Millions of dollars and euros are spent by many countries to support the "global military market". In the middle of a global recession, the huge spending in military compounds is estimated to reach 10 - 20% of the budget of each state participating in the "help" program in Afghanistan.

So, what is the new with Obama's presidency? Maybe, the Americans feel at the moment that they have a President that really cares more about US itself than the other world. If we exclude Iraq, Iran and Afghanistan, where the "global military market" governs, the rest of the world is less effected by the new US president. Yes, that is actually good....But who knows what is coming next, when people are more concentrated on their financial situation, which is going worse and worse every day? A war or another target against "Terrorists" may bring the people together, united against the "common enemy".
Peacekeeping is a lost word. There is peace between countries that have a political, religious, fiscal , geological controversy. I don't understand the "peace" between countries that have no controversy. But that's when the right people intervene and facilitate the creation of a hostile momentum (along with ultimatum!) against a country, which, after total destruction, will become the perfect market for "new products". Actually, the U.S. do not seem to have hidden the axe of war even if Obama struggled to finally pass the new health legislation (which many claim to be a real progress). They will bring it forth once the situation becomes irreversible with the American economy. Iran and Yemen are the first candidates, as it is presented by now.
Bush was the disaster by himself! Obama now tries to find the right path to fulfill all the pre-electoral expectations. He shares smiles and fake promises with all the leaders of the countries that honestly (and foolish) believe that a visit to the White House will rise their miserable political careers. All he is thinking, though, is the solution of the complex economical problems U.S faces.
In conclusion, the change may not come soon. The financial situation throughout the world dictates very careful man management. The people start to understand what is going on. They see now how a large elite manipulates the global financial system, how this elite controls politicians (recent examples in UK, and Germany) and at the end the people risk their money in a market, which is set up by cartels. In the face of this "apocalypse", the politicians behave in a manner that does not provoke the common sense of the people. As for the rest of the world, maybe its time to act by their own (without intermediaries) and solve problems without any provocation, now that the U.S. is showing tendency to introversion. We need no more "puppet victims".
